Our photo shoots take place either on location, or in our comfortable, centrally-located studio in historic Gastown.

Melanie's love of photography blossomed during her childhood, as she experimented with an old camera her grandfather had given her. As she grew older, her interest in the art of photography only intensified, as she honed her natural artistic instincts and appreciation for the medium.

Creating art through photography remained a passionate hobby for many years of her adult life, during which she worked as both a professional film and television actress (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0085935/), as well as a casting assistant. It was during this period that she got her first taste of "professional" photography by shooting headshots for her fellow actors.

Melanie now dedicates her efforts to photography full-time, drawing upon her years of experience to help her clients achieve unparalleled results.

The Studio is located in the beautiful and historic Dominion Building at 207 West Hastings Street in vibrant Gastown. The building was completed in 1910 and at thirteen stories was Vancouver's first steel framed high-rise. The striking red and yellow terracotta exterior is capped by a three-storey Mansard roof reminiscent of late 19th century Parisian townhouses. Its interiors are decorated with marble wainscoting, terrazzo flooring and a black ornate spiral staircase. Our space, which was recently renovated, is complete with laminate flooring, large windows, an old-fashioned bronze radiator, oak doors, and bright white walls. We have studio lighting, as well as a variety of backdrops, seating, and props to suit your needs.

Robyn Ross has been a well-established makeup artist in NY, LA, Italy and Vancouver for over 16 years. She has worked in the Fashion, Film, TV, Music & Commercial markets, as well as teaches and does image consulting for many talent & modeling agencies.

Kara Weintraub graduated from the Blanche MacDonald Centre with a diploma in Makeup & Hair Artistry. After graduation, she further developed her hair techniques by working for Blo - Blow Dry Bar. Presently, Kara works as a freelance makeup/hair artist for Fashion, Film & TV.
